rFactor1 Telefonica Grand Prix of Europe - Valencia - Comment
The many fans come to Valencia will not be disappointed by a race certainly very exciting, but also quite confusing and in some spectacular moments.
This race gave to Corigliano the top of the standing, after Baroni's difficult race.
We also had a great Zingalus, who should be really sad for the DSQ who keep him in fifth place. Corigliano has restricted the damages, ending his race in second place, while Serra keeps with his constancy taking the last place of the podium.
Second win this season for Zingalus and Ferrari.
In qualify, Cabiddu took his first pole position ever, due to Baroni's penalty (from Hungary) Corigliano's and Wariof's penalties for changing gearbox. Nice third place for Mandrioli, at debut on Red Bull.
When red lights turned off, great start for GM Serra (3rd place), Corigliano, Smith and Baroni from the bottom. In first corner, Iudicello hit hard Smith and broke his nose, contact also between Wariof and the deb Marras (spinoff). At the end of first lap, pitstops for Iudicello and Wariof too.
Third lap, Corigliano overtook GM Serra for third place.
Fourth lap, accident for Wariof in Bridge straight.
Two laps later, Giaki Serra spunoff and hit the wall, losing his nose and pitting at the end of the lap. Pitting out, Giaki Serra started a great battle with Iudicello.
Giammy Serra's championship is impressive: at Valencia, seventh time on 3rd place in ten races.
Nineth lap, great overtake by Giaki Serra on Iudicello in last sector of the track.
Tenth lap, pitstops dance started again, quickly, GM Serra, Smith, Burdisso and Nieto. During Giaki Serra overlapping by Corigliano, hard accident with Iudicello who completely missed the brake point.
One lap later, pitstop for the polish Luty who hit the white line pittin out, for Vacca and Cabiddu who had problems with refuelling.
Twelweth lap, stops for Zingalus, Corigliano and one lap later for the deb Marras.
Fourteenth lap, the battle between Serra and Cabiddu finally ends. The Force India driver overtook GM, who seems able to pass again Cabiddu, but he's not so good during Marras' overlapping and lost contact.
In the same lap, second pitstops for Vacca and Baroni
Adam Smith is bringing his McLaren in points zone since four races.
Seventeenth lap, the "deb" Mandrioli had his second pit, because of problems on his tires.
Eighteenth lap, particular accident between Luty and Giaki Serra: the inattentive polish driver hit during overlapping the italian one, who seemed not enough careful. Luty is forced to have another stop, same thing for Baroni, again in troubles for fuel.
In these laps, we saw a great fight between Nieto and Burdisso for nineth place, and another important contact betwwen Giaki Serra and Iudicello.
In last three laps, Baroni tried to take third place overtaking GM Serra, but Toro Rosso driver defended his position until chequered flag. In last lap, Marras completely missed brake point and hit the unguilty Luty with Williams, meanwhile Smith tried last attempt of attack of Cabiddu, who had been able to keep 5th place or him.
Now, holidays until September, but we keep in touch with DTM by rF1!

Flash News #06
Lotus to replace BMW Sauber on rF1 2010 Grid.
The garage currently occupied by BMW-Sauber will be replaced by a Malaysian-owned 'Lotus F1 Team' in 2010, F1's governing rFIA announced on Tuesday morning. But the Paris federation also gave hope to the Hinwil based team, who had also applied for the thirteenth and final 2010 entry in the wake of BMW's decision to quit the sport.
The rFIA described Sauber's application as "impressive", but said Lotus had been selected for the definite 2010 entry because "there are still uncertainties" about the former team's future ownership. Sauber has instead been awarded the "14th place" in the 2010 pitlane, even though at present the sporting regulations and Concorde Agreement allow a maximum of 13 teams.
Regarding Lotus, the rFIA said a company called 1Malaysia F1 Team has won the 13th entry for a Norfolk (UK)-based and Cosworth-powered team to be headed by Tony Fernandes and technical director Mike Gascoyne.
New drivers in track soon?
Rumors in the paddock says that some new drivers should join Bmw and Red Bull second cars. Names are now top secrets but we will probably have a full grid in European Grand Prix, in Valencia.
Red Bull had got for two races the Turkish driver Ahmet Kesgin, but he was kicked out after two really bad races in Great Britain and Germany.
Let's wait for updates.

rFactor1 ING Magyiar Grand Prix - Budapest - Comment
It was clear since the practise that rF1 Magyiar Grand Prix was going to be a really hard race, maybe because of the particular track layout.
In qualify, again a Pole position for Corigliano, with Cabiddu 2nd and Baroni 3rd.
Best qualify of the season for Greg (5th) and Wariof (6th) while GM Serra was not able to make his fastes lap showed in Friday. Penalties "+5 pos in grid" for Luty (changed the gearbox) and Nieto (from accident in German GP).
GM Serra is back to podium: 6th time in 9 races, now he is only 6 points from leader Baroni.
At the start, Cabiddu tried to take the lead, but fought too much with the poleman and Baroni overtook both. Great start for GM Serra, who redeems itself after the bad performance in qualifying, taking the 5th place and undermining Zingalus fourth place.
In the middle of the group, contacts between Smith and Giaky Serra and Wariof and Luty.
At the end of the first lap, pits for Smith, Giaky Serra and Bianchi.
Third lap, quite bad accident for Bianchi (Renault) at corner 6: the driver is ok. In same lap, pitstop for Bernard after a contact in the middle of the track: he will have another pit in the following lap.
Finally a great race for Luty, 4th place for the polish driver.
Fifth lap, second pit for Giaky Serra and first for Nieto with Brawn.
Three laps later, pit for Nieto's teammate Greg, who showed he qualified with empty tank.
Starting from 10th lap, and for the following five laps, we saw the pitstops of Vacca, GM Serra, Iudicello, Burdisso, Baroni, Corigliano, Wariof, Zingalus, Smith, Cabiddu and Luty. After pitstop, the new standing saw Cabiddu leading, Zingalus second, Corigliano and Baroni behind them.In these laps, Luty is fighting in points zone.
Cabiddu wins again: here his celebration on podium with Zingalus.
In sixteenth lap, second pit for Greg and third for Giaky Serra.
Two laps later, second pitstop for Baroni, but his pitmen were not ready and he wasn't able to complete the stop .
At 22nd lap, the most important accident of the race: in first corner, Baroni completely missed the brake and hit Corigliano, with BMW driver who is still in hospital for check. In same corner, few second before, Wariof spun off and hit the wall with his Ferrari (retired).
Last three laps are just a "red carpet" for first three drivers, with Cabiddu taking his second win, Zingalus again second and GM Serra (just 6 points from the leader without any win) again third. Points for Luty, Iudicello, Greg, Burdisso and Smith, after a very difficult race.

rFactor1 ING Magyiar Grand Prix - Hungaroring - Preview
Last week started a really busy period for rFactor1, which is going to show us three races now in four weeks. Nineth round of this season is taking place in the heart of the "Old Europe", Hungary.
Hungaroring was created in 1986, it became the location of the first Formula One Grand Prix behind the Iron Curtain.
Vision of the Hungaroring track by helicopter.
Due to the twisty style of the circuit overtaking is difficult in dry conditions. Nonetheless, the Hungaroring has been the scene of several memorable races such as the duels of Nelson Piquet and Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell's lost wheel in 1987, Mansell's win from 12th on the grid after a dramatic pass on Ayrton Senna in 1989, Damon Hill's almost victory with Arrows in 1997 and maiden wins for Hill in 1993.
Track layout of Hungaroring, Mogyrod, Budapest.
The track is 4.381kms long, with just a long straight (where there is the grid) and sexteen corners: ten right and six left. The Hungaroring is the home of Hungarian motorsport. Besides Formula One, there were also DTM, FIA GT Championship races in its history. A public drag race event takes place every month.

Shocking New: BMW retires from rF1 in 2010
The BMW Group will not continue its Formula One campaign after the end of the 2009 season. Resources freed up as a result are to be dedicated to the development of new drive technologies and projects in the field of sustainability. BMW will continue to be actively involved in other motor sports series.
Also if Davide Corigliano is fighting for World Championship, the BMW decided to announce his retirement at the end of the season. This new should open a large number of hypothesys on Corigliano's new team.
"Of course, this was a difficult decision for us. But it's a resolute step in view of our company's strategic realignment," explained Dr. Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG.
Who is going to take BMW's place in next season?
Where is racing the italian driver in 2010?
rFactor1 Grand Prix of Deutschland - Nurburgring - Report Cards by Ax89
Ahmet Kesgin was kicked out after two dreadful races.
Ahmet Kesgin - 0
With a previous assigned penalty, he didn't joined the qualify session, and his grid position was of course the last (14th for today's joined drivers). Good start in terms of leaving the grid when the light was green, but totally unacceptable for his behaviour in fair and sporty terms. He literally destroyed and/or ruined lot of cars, including himself: nothing more to say, he ended his race slight ahead of the first corner for the suspensions damages, but got a DSQ from the entire championship for that race management. Totally unclassifiable, we can't speak of a real F1 driver.
Luc Bernard - 2
Surely the slowest driver on track for the qualify session, and he started 13th on the grid.
His race was traumatic, going out just after starting, for multiple crashes, caused by both the Brawn GP drivers, that destroyed and damaged several parts of his car. For him, there was no way to continue but just only few other meters, and he was forced to retire himself from the race. Again a bad performance for him on the race weekend, just like it was on the previous GP.
Mario Wariof - 4
Also on this race, he showed not a great performance, because of not testing as much as others did. His qualifying position wasn't anyway such bad, being 9th on the grid start. Anyway, when starting, he suffered one of the bad manouevres of Kesgin, being hitted by him and having a damaged rear suspension train. This forced him to pit at the end of lap, trying to repair damages, but his cars again wasn't able to stay well on track, and he decided to retire from the race just one lap later. A bad weekend for him, again forced to retire prior to showing off some qualities.
Antonio Iudicello - 5
Today's race was just the worst of a series of GPs for him. His qualify time allowed him to start from the exact middle of the grid, in 7th place. He managed not a brilliant start, going on the grass to avoid a stopped car on the grid, but he drove pretty good and safely, going above his starting position, and fixing himself on a stable 6th place. His consistency was really good, but he suffered poor tyres grip and a not great car performance, being recovered by Adam, and defending from his attacks, but was hitted by him in an overtake try. Anyway, his race ended at lap 8 just by a disconnection, like never happened before, and again a no point race had been written on the championship for him.
Mario Nieto - 3
He didn't repeated his previous GP's performance, and today he started 13th with no time scored. His starting wasn't good, and he hitted Bernard's McLaren on the first corner, braking too late. Anyway, he didn't suffered significant damages, and climbed up in 8th position at the end of first lap, becoming later also the 6th, and dropping down by 1 position just after his pitstop on lap 13: 2 laps later he made an accident, and his Brawn GP was destroyed, so the race ended at this point for him. Being a bit lucky, his race wasn't such remarkable today, and he also didn't a good job generally.
Giacomo Serra - 6
Also today, the STR driver didn't showed great performances unlike his teammate. He qualyfied on the 10th place, maintaining this place for 15 laps. His race still wasn't easy: at start a bad accident between Bernard and Greg got him involved in a crash, which caused the front wing loosing for him. He was forced to pit at first lap, but didn't missed any position, because of the retirement of the other drivers. With Nieto out at lap 15, he gained another position, closing his race on a 9th place, being the last driver who finished the race. A flat race for him, like previous races, with nothing of particular to see from him.
Giuseppe Greg - 5
His race management wasn't brilliant as seen on the past GP. He managed a good qualify, starting in 8th position, but causing a little mess with his teammate Nieto on the start moment. He dropped down last on the first lap, but after pitting to repair damages, he started to recover somne positions, thanks also for the retirement of other drivers. Anyway, his performance was remarkable compared to his final position, but he wasn't so constant on laps, so he finished the same as the starting grid place. Not a good performance from him today, he didn't showed much, only few fights but not a clean driving.
Ferrari's Zingalus is one of the most consistent drivers of the league.
Massimo Burdisso - 8
This "little" guy proved again that his mind isn't located, like others, in the middle of legs, and even if he qualifyed 11th, his race was another story, showing again a great race management. Good clean start, that allowed him to stay away from troubles and to climb up in the 9th place. He even was able to gain 2 more positions, but pitted a little early compared to other drivers, losing those positions: still this strategy really payed off, as, thanks to his consistency, even if the lap time wasn't great at all, he catched again the 7th place on lap 16, an maintained it well to the race end. He was the first pilot to finish with 1 lap gap, but his race was pretty much good, and could be also choiced as the best driver of the day.
Adam Smith - 7
As the previous race, another good performance showing from McLaren's driver. He set the 6th fastest lap on the qualify and also on the final race best laps list, and the 6th place was also his final position on the chequered flag: he was the last driver to be in full laps at race end. He was initially in a good fight with Iudicello's Toyota, but in a missed overtake trying he broken his front wing and had to pit on the 8th lap to change his nose. Just few laps, and he recovered his initially position. Only a little crazy attack against Cabiddu's Force India to remark, but generally, he had a good race today.
Giammy Serra - 8
Also the STR driver has the same final position as the one at start, and like Adam, the same position on the fastest laps list. He managed a very good qualify lap, and started on 5th position. His race was still much more exciting than any other driver on the race: on the first lap, a clean driving and an excellent attack manouevre gave him an amazing 2nd place, but this dream last for only 2 more laps: he gave back the 2nd position to the original BMW owner, and a little later, lost other 2 positions. A pretty good consistency, but after his pitstop, his lap time increased like the first pilots, so he was unable to catch even the 4th driver to start a fight, and managed well his car as usual, going to the end. Good race for him.
Simone Cabiddu - 7
Cabiddu's performance on the qualify was the most closer to the top 2 drivers of the day, and he started on the 3rd place: he badly ruined this advantage, starting pretty bad, and after many other drivers losing 2 positions. His race wasn't such spectacular, and the only fight moment was at the 16th lap with his team mate, battling for the 3rd position, who overtook him. Not bad, but today Cabiddu didn't surprised like in the previous GPs, having a nearly flat race.
Gianpiero Baroni - 7
Also the other Force India driver hadn't a good race today, but at least, he catch a podium, finishing 3rd. He started on the 2nd line, after a great fight in qualify with Corigliano. He lost the pole fight but won the start one, overtaking the pole-sitter, and dominating the race for almost 13 laps: at this point he wasted his chance of victory, hitting the wall after a technical problem, resulting in a broken nose and the needing to pit to change it. Then, he lost several positions and time, but his determination gave him the chance to gain still a podium place: running like the hell he set an amazing fastest lap, even better than his qualify time and the poleman time itself. He recovered a position, leaving his mate behind on 4th, and tryed until the end to catch the 2nd place, but wasn't lucky. A peer sign for him today, keeping his place on the drivers championship.
Alex Zingalus - 9
Again a very good result for him, centering the same podium place for the second time. His qualify time wasn't so much remarkable, but his performance on race didn't suffered the same score, setting the 3rd best time on the today's race. The first half of race wasn't much exciting for him, just an overtake against Serra's car, catched in troubles. His maximum glory moment was on lap 13, when the current race leader pitted: he leaded the race, but for 1 lap only, because he had to make his stop, and gave the 1st place back to the previous leader. Returning on track in 2nd place thanks to the Baroni's mistake, he managed a good second half of race, making also his personal best lap, and managing well his position.
Davide Corigliano - 8
He made the today's race pole time, but the race didn't started in the best way as he wished, losing the lead just after the the green light was on for a bad momentum. Not only this, but even worse: few corners later, he was overtaken by Giammy Serra's STR. He started to recover his leading place from the 3rd lap, when he was back on the 2nd place, running high to stay in touch with the leader. He pitted on the 12th lap, and he was lucky not only of returning on his previous position, but also gaining the race leadership when Baroni made his crash: he immediately moved on the top, and leaded the race until the end, with a good margin from other drivers. Generally, a good race for him, again a bit lucky but at the same time clever enough to take advantages from those lucky moments.
Ahmet Kesgin - 0
With a previous assigned penalty, he didn't joined the qualify session, and his grid position was of course the last (14th for today's joined drivers). Good start in terms of leaving the grid when the light was green, but totally unacceptable for his behaviour in fair and sporty terms. rFactor1 Santander Grand Prix of Deutschland - Nurburgring - Comment
When at last attempt Corigliano took pole position to Baroni it was clear that German GP was not going to be a race to forget soon! In qualify, Cabiddu was just behind them, with Zingalus, GM Serra, Smith and Iudicello following.
Corigliano is now one point far from Baroni.
At the start, Cabiddu felt asleep, while Giammy Serra took third place, overtaking also Zingalus. In back, really bad show for Kesgin: he hit Nieto, Giaki Serra and finally Wariof, destroying his car.
Bernard was maybe tho most unlucky of the group: he was hit in first two corners by Nieto and Greg. The final results was that he hit Giaki Serra after his car was completely without control: Bernard tried to keep in race but crashed at Schumacher corner.
But the emotions in this first lap were not finished yet: GM Serra overtook Corigliano for second place, while at the end of the lap Nieto, Giaki Serra and Wariof pitted in.
Second lap, Wariof retired for damages from contacts in first lap.
Third lap, Corigliano overtook GM Serra for second place while Baroni is leading.
Bernard's McLaren after accident at Schumacher corner.
One lap later, Giammy Serra commited a mistake at Ford corner and Zingalus overtook him at Dunlop: the Toro Rosso driver is in troubles in Sector 1 and suffered also the overtaking of Cabiddu.
Eighth lap, Iudicello retired when he was 6th for a Electronical failure.
Nineth lap, pitstop for Burdisso, while a lap later we had pitstops for Giaki Serra.
Again a great race with points for Max Burdisso and Williams.
From 11th to 13th lap we had pitstops of the leaders: Corigliano, Cabiddu and Baroni, after a disastrous 12th lap when he crashed braking his nose. In same lap, pit for Greg also.
Lap fifteenth, Nieto crashed and finally retired, endind a really hard race for him.
In lap sexteenth, Cabiddu missed corner 6 brake point, giving to Baroni the chance to overtake him for third place.
At last lap, a great fight between Burdisso and Greg for 7th place, with Williams driver who won.

POST RACE OFFICIAL INTERVIEWS
Davide Corigliano (BMW Sauber) - WINNER
ENGLISH: "I'm so happy for this win, I had a good feeling with my car and setup was great, with soft tires I had to overtake Baroni in first laps, but I missed a corner and I was forced to climb up again. If Baroni didn't make an error, I think we should fight for first position. Now I'm focused only to be in front of him in next races".
Adesso penso solo ad arrivare davanti a lui nelle prossime gare."
Alex Zingalus (Ferrari) - 2nd Place
ENGLISH: "I'm so happy for second position, cause this is a track I don't really like and I had never made nice races here. I was in troubles to keep the way of leaders after my pitstop with a not really good setup, however I want to say 'thank you' to my team for the great work and constant updates that give me more feeling with the car".
Gianpiero Baroni (Force India Mercedes) - 3rd place
ENGLISH: "Qualify was better than what we expected, in our team everyone worked doing his best. Race start was wonderfu, I overtook Corigliano in first corner. I led for 10 laps, when my tire collapsed pushing me against the wall. Pitting in I had a stop of 12 second, I lost some position and when I pitted out I tried to climb up the standing: ended in 3rd with a second of gap from Alex Zingalus. In general, not bad...really looking forward Hungary!"

rFactor1 Santander British Grand Prix - Silverstone - Comment
It was an exciting race in Silverstone for rFactor1 circus. The home race of most teams showed the skills of some drivers, but also the lack of brain of some others.
In qualify, there was a great pole for the "deb" of Red Bull Ahmet Kesgin form Turkey, due of a really low amount of fuel in the tank. Baroni was second, third place for Luty (really bad behaviour for him during this race), Cabiddu (Monaco winner) 4th. Corigliano was really in troubles with his BMW and started in 15th.
Mario Nieto is back in points, after a great battle with his friend Cardozo.
At the green light, all drivers left the grid, Kesgin leading, with Giammy Serra who had overtake Zingalus in first corner. In the center of the group, at Becketts, lot of contacts happened: Giaky Serra hit Greg and lost his nose, there was a contact between Iudicello and Corigliano, and in Chapel Wariof destroyed his car hitting Giaky Serra, who was coming back to the track after the previous accident.
But it's not over: at corner eight Cardozo, finally really fast, overtake Zingalus for 5th place. At The Bridge, Bernard finished his fuel and was overwhelm by Corigiano: the McLaren driver completely lost his rear tire ad was forced to retire.
At the end of first lap, pitstops for: Kesgin, Iudicello, Giaky Serra and Wariof (retire for him).
Second lap, Giaky Serra and Antonio Iudicello waere forced to carry a Stop&Go for speeding in pits.
Fourth lap, Nieto spun off at first corner, back in track with no damages in 11th position. Kesgin started his abominable show, overtaking Smith after an heavy contact in Stowe.
Zingalus was 7th at the end of first lap, but he climbed up the standing taking an awesome second position.
Fifth lap, while Baroni is leading in front of Luty, Cabiddu spun off at Luffield losing in third position, taken by GM Serra.
One lap later, pitstops for Cardozo (was 6th) and Kesgin (second pit for him). Corigliano, leader of World Championship, ended his bad race hitting the wall just outside Chapel.
Eighth lap, Monaco's winner Cabiddu retired for an electric failure.
At tenth lap, pitstops dance finally started: we had Greg, Burdisso (also a Stop&Go for him for Speeding in Pitlane), Giammy Serra, Smith, Baroni, Nieto, Zingalus, Kesgin, Luty (hit the wall pitting out), Vacca, Iudicello and Giaky Serra.
Pitstop was really important for Zingalus in 15th lap: he made his pit two laps after Giammy Serra and pitted in front of him for one second, taking second place.
Also in fifteenth lap, there was the final retire for Luty that was penalized after an incredible series of cuts in every lap.
Seventeenth lap, great overtake of Nieto on Cardozo for 5th place.
One lap later, Kesgin broke his nose hitting Nieto for four times in two corners. His behaviour had been really unacceptable and he received ten seconds of penalty at the end of the race, plus the starting from last position in German GP. In the same lap, Cardozo took again 5th place overtaking Nieto with Brawn.
This is what drivers calls a great race: lot of fights and a good 5th place for Cardozo and his Red Bull.
Great win at the end for Baroni, who took again the leadership of the standings, important second place for a never subdued Zingalus and again a third place for the "solid" Giammy Serra and his Toro Rosso.
SUMMARY OF PENALTIES:
- Ahmet Kesgin, the whole the race pushing other drivers to overtake them, bad behaviour in track - +10secs on his race time, starts from last in Germany, official "yellow card" - at first mistake he's going to be DSQ for one race.
- Tomas Luty, the wole race hitting other drivers, cutting corners, driving out of the track, cutting lines, etc. - DSQ in Germany.
- Giacomo Serra, official warning. He has to be more careful coming back in track after an accident.
- Davide Corigliano, above all in first lap was driving too much agressive, under probation.

rFactor1 Santander British Grand Prix - Silverstone - Official Results
Massive penalties for Kesgin and Luty. They showed really bad behaviour, causing lots of accidents, cutting corners more than once.
Kesgin hit 4 times during 18th lap Mario Nieto for example. So, the turkish driver suffers 10 sec of penalty and will start from last position in German GP.
Luty, considering was racing his 4th gap, is going to be DSQ for German Grand Prix.
