rFactor1 Monaco Grand Prix - Montecarlo - Race comment

After Spanish Grand Prix, rFactor1 finally arrives in the most peculiar track the history of F1, the street circuit of Monte Carlo. Qualify were really exciting, with the pole position for Corigliano, second place for Baroni, third for Cabiddu and fourth for GM Serra. Zingalus and Greg started last because of the penalties received in the previous race.

Force India an half lap before the accident of Baroni. Cabiddu still don't know he's going to win an awesome race.

Turns off the red lights, Baroni started a little bit slowly and Cabiddu joins him, but didnt attack at first corner. Good start for Zingalus and Giaky Serra, as always. Accident and retire for Bianchi, at the end of the lap pitstops for Iudicello, Greg, Bernard and Cardozo.
Lap two, one of the most important moments of the race: Baroni made a mistake and crashed at Sainte-Devote: Cabiddu and GM Serra were chasing and the Toro Rosso driver hit Baroni's nose, puncturing his right front tire and pitting at the end of this lap. The race in the back is hard and there were pits for Luty, Greg and Burdisso.
In the following two laps, pits for Vacca (two times), Luty (two times) and Greg (third stop in total).

GM Serra pitted at second lap, but climbed up the standing, closing with a great 3rd position.

Fifth lap, quite bad crash for Cardozo at Rascasse and retire for him.
One lap later, Luty retired for an accident at Nouvelle chicane.
Eight lap, Bernard retires because of an hard contact with the outer wall. His McLaren was badly damaged. In the same lap, Wariof started his pitstop dance: three in the following three laps (one for a drive throught).
Lap ten, battle for 4th position in Toro Rosso's family: GM overtook Giaky, who hit the wall at Rascasse: immediate pitstop for him. Unlucky, Giaky Serra speede in pit lane and was constrict to pit again one lap later for a "Drive throught".
Only one lap later, Giaky Serra ended his race hitting Portier's wall.

Best season result for Burdisso: consistent race and 6th place for him and his Williams.

Lap 13, Corigliano lapped Smith, but the british driver completely missed Mirabeau's braking, hitting the leader. McLaren's driver retired and will lose 10 pos in Great Britain GP start. Corigliano was lucky enough to do that would stop in that space, even though he was forced to make two thirds of a turn without the front wing. This was a very chaotic lap: we had the worst accident of the race, Greg (maybe for a suspension failure) crashed really hard with the wall at "Piscine 1",
but in hospital there was confirmation of his excellent condition and lack of consequences.
In three following laps, pits for Corigliano, Cabiddu, Iudicello, Zingalus and Burdisso. DT again for Wariof.
From 15th to 24th we had a quite race, with GM Serra in troubles with his tires (26 laps with same tires set at the end) trying to resist the recovery of Zingalus and Corigliano.

Spectator are in raptures during Cabiddu's last lap.

Lap 22, Corigliano overtook Zingalus at "Piscine".
Lap 24, finally GM Serra is forced to surrender: Corigliano found a little space in Portier, attacking at "Nouvelle Chicane" and overtaking Toro Rosso driver after an awesome fight under the Tunnel.
In last three laps, Sburroso administer his own advantage, while Zingalus tried with no success to overtake GM Serra.
With this result, Corigliano took the top of the standing, and Cabiddu jumped closer to Baroni. GM Serra is still third.
